Family Update

Its time for a major family update..

Tom-Daddy is finishing up his 15th week in the academy. He is told they will graduate end of July/beginning of August. Theyre very last minute with planning it..they need to work it around the bosses schedule. He is doing really well..2nd in his class. A few weeks back, he got to drive the squads around the runway at O'Hare airport. That was a pretty fun week for him! We are soaking in this time with a normal schedule, especially now that we live together! We celebrated our 7 year anniversary by moving that day. I still want to go out to eat and acknowledge day soon!

Erin-I have had the most uncomplicated twin pregnancy and I am thankful as each day passes. I may suck at getting pregnant, but my body can cook some healthy babies. I had cervix checks at 16, 18, 20 and 22 weeks. I was a little worried between the 20 and 22 week check this past week. Ive been feeling more pressure/pains but luckily, my rockstar cervix is going strong at just under 5cm. Im finally gaining some weight..up about 12 lbs now. Im feeling big and get out of breath pretty easily. Im staying active with the boys and going to try and enjoy our adventures now while theyre still simple! I go back to the OB in 2 weeks and start growth ultrasounds at 26 weeks.

Trevor-Trevor is loving our new place. We have a fun backyard and he is in love with a park a few blocks away. He has done so well with all of the changes weve had the past few months. When we were driving back from Wisconsin and heading to our new home, he asked, "Where are we going, Mama?" I said, "Home!" His response was.."WHO'S HOME?" He loves feeling the babies move and suggested Wreck it Raplh and Gavin for names. :) I submitted an application for him to go to a preschool for all program next year. Im really hoping he gets in. The school is blocks from us and looks amazing. He is very smart and social and would love the routine, I think. His allergies have been pretty bad this year. Hes on a few daily medications and some days he is so irritated and it greatly affects his mood. We saw a new allergist and suggested allergy shots. We are totally on board, but need to find one closer to home as they are weekly. Trevor ran into a shelf at buybuybaby about two weeks back. Poor guy needed 2 stitches in his eyebrow and sported quite the black eye. He was amazing through the process and didnt flinch.

Gavin-This boy is trouble! He has grown up so much in the past few months. He is talking a ton! He repeats most things you say and my favorite is love you. He says hi, Mama, Dada, blankie, ninny, all done, please, baby, hello, baba, choo choo, vroom vroom, etc. It amazes me how much he understands. He shakes his head yes as a response to most things. He follows commands. If you take his diaper off, he will pee/poop within 30 seconds. He is addicted to his blanket and pacifier. He just cut his first 2 molars and after weeks of bad sleeping, slept through the night 2 nights in a row! He is nuts about Trevor. Gavin is the most affectionate baby, always willing to kiss, hug or snuggle. His hair is getting curly at the back and I adore it. He is a climber! Hes very mischievous and has the cutest giggle. He is still very tiny and I will have stats at his 15 month appointment next week. Ive been chunking him up with pediasure in addition to food! His new cheese face is hilarious and just like Trevors at this age.

Baby A-Baby got a perfect report at my 20 week scan. Hes a bit bigger than B and is currently head down. At 22 weeks, we couldnt get any good face shots. He had his hand up and Baby B's feet in his face. He has no name but does have a car seat and coming home outfit. :)

Baby B-We are pretty sure we know his name but wont make a final decision until we decide on A's. He is breech and enjoys kicking his brother in the face. He was measuring exactly as he should at 20 weeks. They saw a spot on his heart and assured me its nothing to worry about. Of course, I worried. We got fabulous face shots at 22 weeks. I think he looks like Gavin.

Other life happenings..were loving our new neighborhood and of course, loving our time together. We really plan to soak it in until Tom graduates and has a wacky schedule for months. We will go to the cottage every few weekends. No other major plans have been made, since I know everything can change in an instant. Ill have to do a little house tour soon. Have a good weekend, everyone!

Happy, Happy!

I have been absent from here..thanks to the lack of good internet connection! A lot has happened! We moved out of our rental home in Westmont. We stayed at my sisters from Tuesday-Sunday of last week. We looked at a rental house in the neighborhood we have so desperately been holding out for and really liked it. I "moved" to our cottage in Wisconsin last Sunday and had to travel back to Chicago on Tuesday to sign the lease and give the deposit. We spent the rest of the week in Wisconsin and Daddy came up Friday after work.

Mothers Day weekend was blissful. Friday night, Tom finally got to feel the babies nightly dance party. Gavin got the memo that its okay to sleep in past 6:30am and slept until 8am both days! We spent a fun day in Kenosha yesterday and went to the Milwaukee Zoo today. The zoo was awesome..we cant wait to go back and do more of its fun activities this summer.

The best part of the weekend? Kissing Daddy goodbye, knowing this is the last week we have to live apart! Tom will grab the keys to the new place on Thursday night and Ill start moving stuff in Friday while hes gone. The big move will take place Saturday..our 7 year anniversary..exactly 3 months to the day to when he moved out. I cant think of anything more romantic than being back together as a family.

This week should fly by, since I have to travel back to Illinois for my OB appointment Tuesday afternoon and my big 20 week scan Wednesday morning. We will stay at my sisters house that night and come back up to get our stuff and hang at the cottage until Friday morning. All this moving around has been crazy. I cant wait to be in our new place, where I can really focus on making it our own and start prepping for these babies!

I hope everyone had a great Mothers Day. When I sat in a doctors office over 5 years ago..and was diagnosed with unexplained infertility..I never would have imagined I would be here today. I have two perfect sons, am enjoying a healthy twin pregnancy and still have 4 embryos to give a chance. I am thankful for modern medicine, for my husband for standing by me and for all the support along the way..from friends, family and everyone here. Thank you!

Halfway Cooked!

Tomorrow I am 19 weeks pregnant. Since I wont be allowed to go past 38 weeks..that is my half way mark. Of course, they could come early. Im hoping 36 weeks at the earliest. Regardless, I cant believe we are here.

Some days, I still cant believe I am pregnant. It still blows my mind that there are two babies inside me. I am thankful for having such an easy, healthy pregnancy thus far. I had another cervix check this past Wednesday and its still holding strong at almost 5 cm. I was a bit worried about it being shorter because of all the added stress/standing on my feet for the wedding. I was relieved it hadnt changed a bit! We did a quick peek at the babies and they had their legs intertwined and were so cute. Its getting a little crowded in there. They have gotten SO active the past few days. Ive been feeling them for weeks, but now its all day and stronger. I love it!

Everyone comments on how small I am. Sometimes, I look in the mirror and feel tiny and other times I cant believe this belly I am sporting! I feel like itll be easy to stay active and healthy since Ill be outside with the boys all summer. Today is my last day of working, so I am officially a stay at home Mom who only needs to worry about my two boys on the outside and two on the inside.

We are out of our rental house and staying with my sister until Sunday. Then, we will be Wisconsin resident until further notice. The first time we need to come back is May 14-15 for my 20 week doctors appointments.

We are stuck on baby names. We may go with the ones we picked a few weeks back. Im just not there yet. Ive been throwing out some random suggestions, but we havent had the time or energy to really think about it together. I really do want them to have names soon. Suggestions are welcome. :)
