Twenty Things

10 Things I am loving about Trevor right now..

1. His fierce love for his baby brother. He adores him every minute of every day. He is always trying to make him smile and giggle. He kisses Gavin like crazy and has more than earned the best big brother title.

2. He is both Daddys little buddy and Mamas boy. He has been really into playing with Daddy lately, but, if he is tired or hurt, only I can make it better.

3. His morning snuggles. Such a great way to start our day.

4. His love of music. He is such a great singer and I love that little voice.

5. I love that his skin is looking better. Its likely just the antibiotic he was prescribed, but any relief he gets is appreciated.

6. His loud, infectious laugh. Its the best.

7. He has been working on "big boy" tasks lately. Drinking out of a regular cup, getting dressed and undressed, etc.

8. If you ask him Gavins name, he will say Gavin Thomas Michael Robertson. Apparently, everyone has Michael as their middle name, like Trevor does.

9. His love of books. He will gladly sit and listen to stories and he really absorbs them.

10. His laid back attitude. Each day is different in our house and he goes with the flow.

*Photos are from the firetruck night in town last week. We borrowed Tyler and Rylan for the night.*

10 Things I am loving about Gavin right now..

1. His laugh! He is always very giggly in the evening hours.

2. Those big, round eyes. So expressive and so beautiful.

3. I love nursing him. I'm thankful my body can provide for him long after giving birth.

4. His reaction when he sees Tom. Little man loves his Daddy!

5. He is always folding his body in half and playing with his piggies!

6. His voice! He is quite the chatterbox and I love listening to him talk all day.

7. His favorite spot is on my right hip. He loves to be held and is content sitting there, taking in the world on Mama's side.

8. Every noise he makes. I know his tired cry, love to listen to him eating and love the sweet, deep breaths when he sleeps.

9. Sometimes he sleeps with his butt up in the air. Too cute!

10. I love how much he has brought to our family. He has made us one piece closer to being complete.

What are you loving about your kids lately?

Possible Changes

We got home from Country Thunder late on Sunday and a great surprise was in the mailbox. A letter from one of the police departments Tom tested for! It was instructing him to call and set up his polygraph appointment. He had it yesterday at 4pm. We have no clue what the results of the test are and he was told he wont hear back until the end of August.

This job would be a huge change for us. Tom would enjoy what he is doing! He wants to be on the street so bad! The extra money wouldn't hurt either. Its about 45 minutes away, but we wouldn't have to move in town. We know they are starting an academy in September, so we are hopeful the rest of the testing moves quickly and he is in it!

This week,  I called and made our first consult with Dr. M. It is August 25th. Gavin will be almost 6 months old. We will be talking about what tests I need to have done as well as if there are any treatment options to consider while I am still nursing. If not, I want to know his thoughts on when to schedule a FET. I had such a rush of adrenaline after I got off the phone with them. I told Tom, I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

Thunder

Country Thunder 2012 was one of the best yet!!

We arrived at the cottage late on Thursday, following Trevor's dermatologist appointment(more on that later)..

Friday, we woke up and had the laziest day ever. Tom took Trevor down to the beach and they rode the waverunner, fished and swam. I am usually all about the beach, but I decided to stay back, take the longest shower in my life and relax while Gavin took a big nap. It was great.

After Trevors 3 hour nap, we got ready and headed to the fest. This is the first year it was sold out and boy, was it crowded! It took us so long to park and get through the crowd. We finally arrived at our "spot" in the grass and had a fantastic night.

 Luke Bryan

 Chicken on a stick? Delicious!

 Jason Aldean

The boys were good. So, so good! Gavin hung on my hip until he passed out. He slept in the stroller for a bit and then was up again. Trevor danced and ran around and was an angel, considering it was hours past his bed time!

Saturday, we spent the day at the beach. The hours flew by and after dinner, we were headed back to the concert. Its only about 5 minutes from our cottage; couldn't be more convenient!

We walked around a while before heading to our spot. Got Trevor a hat and Mama a shirt. :)

Its usually terrible weather for CT. This year was great. It didnt rain and it wasnt terribly hot. Blake Shelton performed Saturday and he was fantastic. So many great slow songs.

People at Country Thunder went crazy over the boys. Youd think they had never seen a baby before. We were kinda asking for it with the cowboy hat and boots(and OMG they made them both wear tiny wristbands and I about died!) I just cant get over how amazingly cute and fun they were to have there. It goes to show..life goes on after kids. ;)

We planned to go back to the fest on Sunday for Toby Keith, but we were so tired. We went on the boat with friends all day and Trevor passed out around 4pm. We had a huge dinner and cake for my brothers girlfriend. We decided to head home and didnt get back until after 9pm.

We cant wait to go back next year. Hopefully, I wont be able to have a beer in hand..

Four Months

Lets not talk about how late this post is..In my defense, I wanted to wait until his appointment to get his proper stats. That happened to be a week ago today..

Gavin is four months and are falling more in love with him every day.

He weighs 12 lb, 9 oz. I was shocked! That is a full 5 pounds less than Trevor at the exact same age. He is a peanut and in about the 15%ile. Even without chunky thighs, he was a rockstar for his shots. He cried about 60 seconds and was over it.

He is average for height at 24-3/4 inches.

I was planning on holding off feeding him until at least 6 months. But, the kid doesnt sleep at night. I figured we would try a night time meal and I am glad we did. The kid is crazy about food. We just feed him some oatmeal between his last two feedings at night and put him to bed in his crib. He will sleep a bit longer and usually wakes around 3am. Then he comes to bed with us.

He loves sleeping dangerously. How, you ask? He is a total belly sleeper. He rolls around like crazy before falling asleep. Often times, he bumps his head on the slats of the crib. Im too afraid to put a bumper on because he could easily suffocate in it! He also likes falling asleep holding a blanket. Yes, he is needy. I let him fall asleep with it and then gently pull it away.

It has continued to be a ridiculously hot summer here. The kid wears onesies or a diaper most days of the week.

Gavin is crazy about Trevor. He lights up when Trevor talks to him. Trevor is equally in love with G. He baby talks him and is so sweet and kind. Best big brother ever!

Gavin is still pretty bald. The hair on his head is getting longer. It sure isnt getting thicker.

Gavin is a happy boy. He smiles all day long. Laughs are a different story. You really have to work for it. He is so stingy, I have yet to get good giggles on video.

His eyes are a beautiful blue, and getting lighter slowly.

He is getting the bottom left tooth. You can see the little tips. He chews on his hands and sucks on his fingers all day.

We are simply loving life with two sons. It feels so right. This is what our family was meant to be. For now. :)
