Gender Predictions

I am totally obsessing about the babies genders. I would pay a lot of money to know who is in there right this minute!! After some thought, we decided to skip the gender reveal pics and just wait until the 16 week ultrasound at the specialist. I am too scared they will be wrong! I want to see proof. Front and back, 100% certainty! Only negative is that the appointment is during the day, so Tom wont be there. Itll be a long day, waiting until 4pm, to tell him the big news!

I found a list of old wives tales so I can compare.

It's a boy if: You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the extra weight out front
Your belly looks like a basketball
Your areolas have darkened considerably
You are carrying low
You are craving salty or sour foods
You are craving protein -- meats and cheese
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy
The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy
Your hands are very dry
Your pillow faces north when you sleep

Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you
Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
Your urine is bright yellow in color
Your nose is spreading
You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles
You are having headaches
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number

It's a girl if: You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute

You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
Your left breast is larger than your right breast
Your hair develops red highlights
You are carrying high
Your belly looks like a watermelon
You are craving sweets
You are craving fruit
You crave orange juice

You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
Your face breaks out more than usual
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread
Your breasts have really blossomed
Your pillow faces south when you sleep
Your urine is a dull yellow color
You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves from side to side You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an odd number

To wrap things up-this list is nuts! What I can gather is..I have craved a ton of random foods, Im always cold, I feel like a crabby pregnant lady who is easily annoyed. I dont feel pretty and my butt has gotten a little extra cushion on it. One item I found so odd is my boobs! With Trevor and Gavin, my boobs were instantly sore and grew a ton overnight. This time, they never felt tender and didnt grow at all. That is, until last week. They are now my typical pregnant boobs I adore so much.

Chinese gender says girl. It was correct with Trevor and Gavin.

20 days and counting...get your vote in now. :)

No fair! I am 14.5 weeks and still no pregnancy boobs! This is also my third pregnancy and I've never experienced this late onset before. I keep thinking, my bump is going to look huge without the matching chest- ha! As for predictions, I hope it's the twin girls you've imagined, but you are an awesome boy Mama, so either way it's gonna be great!

Yeaaaah. None of those wives tales were right for me. I did, however, have 2 different doctors in the practice correctly guess one of each based on heart rate. There was just problem. They both guessed opposite of what they were! For me, Christopher was more active from the beginning. Kendall was always the shy one & turned backwards during the ultrasounds.
I'm going to guess one of each for you! :)

I saw a cute idea where the ultrasound tech writes the gender down and seals it in an envelope to give to you-- then you and Tom could open it together! Just idea-- then you both enjoy the suspense and share the joy of opening it together :) just a thought! exciting stuff either way! :)

The ability for the u/s tech to discern gender at 12-13 weeks (NT scan) offers 80-90% accuracy based on data I have researched. Whether or not an u/s tech is willing to make a call that early, it's up to the individual u/s tech. I found out with my first pregnancy (twins) at 13 weeks, confirmed at 16 weeks and again at each ultrasound after. You should have NO PROBLEM at 16 weeks getting an accurate gender guess...good luck!

Did you get any nub shots at your NT scan we could analyze???? Google nub theory or angle of the dangle. We could make some guesses from those!! Also babycenter has an ultrasound board you could check out those ladies "nub" pics! I wish I could see your pics to see if you got the nub captured. If it looks like a straight line with the spine - girl. If it angles up - boy. Congrats either way!!!

I don't really get sore ta-ta's when pregnant. No leaking or anything either but they do swell. I always worry toward the end that I won't make milk but definitely don't have an issue there once baby is born, LOL!

We're not finding out the gender this time (I'm 28 weeks!) and it's fun but so hard! Was so hard to go to that sonogram and look away. So anyway I have like several from each of the lists but only one baby in there so no idea!
