Seriously?

Yesterday, I went to pee quick just before I went to put on my pretty dress for Gavin's baptism. Much to my surprise, there was blood. I sat, puzzled, and dug out a tampon. I came out and told Tom I thought I just got my period..and went on with my day. (Thankfully that happened then and not an hour later or I would have been quite embarrassed when I stood up in the church!)

It was light, but continuous. I still wasn't convinced that's what it was. Today, I am sure.

I went to the doc last week and was told I am completely healed. I am exclusively breastfeeding my SEVEN week old baby. And I got my period? It took about 9 months for me to get it with Trevor. I kinda feel like a freak show..anyone else ever get it this early?

First of all, your babies are precious!! I came across your blog awhile back and love reading! To answer your question, I got mine around 5 weeks after having my baby! I didn't know any different to be worried. When i went in for my 6 week check-up my dr didn't seem concerned!

This happened to me too after Baby #2...I didn't get it back until 8-9 months with Weston, but I also got it around 8 weeks PP with William. I only got it once though, and it hasn't come back since, and he's now 7 months old. Talk about a freak show...

Yep!! She is 4 months old and we are exclusively breastfeeding and I've had 2 periods, the first at 7.5 weeks. It sucks!

It is common I think to get a period shortly after or around the 6 week post partum mark and then not again for a long time. Sort of the last flushing of the system from pregnancy. I did with both my kids

I had a small one at 11 weeks, and now he's 10 months old, and I have not had one since!

I had that happen both times - but after getting that first period, it didn't return again until after my babies were weaned.

a lot of my BF friends had that happen much sooner with #2 and #3. not sure why but just wanted you to know you're not the only one.

I got mine a few times between 4-12 weeks...didn't keep track because i wasn't 6+ weeks, but pretty sure that's what is was since I didn't actually "stop" bleeding until 12 weeks...it stayed away until he was 10 months. This time, similar situation, the baby is 8 months, so assuming it'll show up sooner rather than later.

With my first I got it back at 7 weeks on the nose. We EBF also. I am currently 7+ months pp and nursing twins, and am happy to say period free. Now she will show up tomorrow ;)

That brought me right back to the moment that I had this happen to me. Right at 2 months... Ugh! I hated it, but then again it reminded me that my body is pretty regular, even when it doesn't want to be!

I got it 8 weeks after having my daughter who was exclusively breastfed. I feel your pain. I was really looking forward to the break and thought "all those women who said it takes 6 or 7 months are such liars!!" Ha! I guess it just varies.

SAME thing happened to me with baby #2. Took 9 months the first time and then - surprise! - at 8 weeks, my period. The good news? I only got it once more in the next 9 months. It just recently started being regular.

I exclusviely breastfed with Brody and had a period and I just got my 1st period (Hudson is 10 weeks) and I breastfeed only with him too!!

I wish I was one of those lucky girls that don't get a period at all when they breast feed!!!

I know this post is a week old but I wanted to chime in. Around 2 months PP I too had a light period that lasted about 3 days. I thought for sure I would be one of those lucky ones that EBF but still had their monthly cycle. Thankfully haven't had it happen again and we are entering our 8th month of nursing. :)
