I have mentioned here before that my family owns a cottage in Wisconsin. Its about a 1.25 hour drive from where we live, which is great. Its not too far away, yet lets you feel like you're away from home. Which is exactly what we need lately.

This summer will be the best yet. Trevor LOVES the cottage. I joke its a free for all while we are there..he doesn't eat as healthy, stays up way too late, walks around naked, etc. Tom and I may do a few of those things too. ;)

This past weekend, we had to take advantage of having the whole cottage to ourselves. This has happened only once or twice in the 3 years since the new cottage was built. We drove up Thursday night and Trevor went to bed at 10:30 pm! I woke him up at 9:45 am to go outside and enjoy the hot day! We went down to the beach and played for hours, layed on the boat and just relaxed. I got a ton of sun and my burn is just now fading.

We went back to the house, had lunch and Trevor took an almost 4 hour nap! We played all evening and our friends Sam and Brian drove up later to stay the night. We had fun sitting on the deck drinking, gave Trevor his first s'more and talked wedding for hours and hours.

Saturday, our friends came up with their son whos 9 days younger than Trevor. We had the BEST day. We went out on the boat and parked at the sandbar for hours, took laps around the lake, let the boys play and snack, had a bbq and enjoyed every second of the day.

We are so fortunate to have this house to escape to. I love that Trevor will go there his entire life and I cant wait until he can request that we go! Its amazing to know that it will be passed down to us 4 kids and then to the grandkids and so on. We will head back next weekend for Fathers Day and I am counting the days!

Where is your cabin at? We have a place in Eagle River (WI) which is a much longer drive...about 4 1/2 - 5 hours for us.

Great pictures!

OK...the "mom in me" just needs to say, "ERIN AND TOM...get better sunscreen and tell Tom to wear a shirt when he's out in the sun!

Burning is the worst thing you can do to your skin and overexposure is just asking for trouble.

I've had a handful of friends who have had skin cancer. It's not fun and it sure aint pretty!

At least do it for Trevor! :)
