Super Low Beta

Less than 18 hours of bliss this time around. All we got was 18 hours, before the world came down.

Beta came back today at 8.96. EIGHT!? I cant believe it.

For comparison sake, Trevor today was 86 and the miscarriage was 128. Yeah, were lower than low.

Nurse said it could go three ways. A-beginning of an ectopic B-chemical pregnancy C-late implanter and everything will be fine.

I am in shock, nauseous, and feeling guilty.

I have to get my blood taken Friday morning. We will be in Cincinnati and I have to find a clinic to draw it. I searched for an hour today and all I came up with was a fertility clinic that would charge $120 for it. I really dont want to pay that money to be told its over.

The only ounce of hope I am holding on to..is that I tested yesterday in the morning and it was negative. I tested again at 6pm and it was positive. So, maybe, just maybe, its a little slacker baby that implanted late.

Add 8.96 to the list of numbers and dates that will haunt me forever.

A friend of mine's first beta was 1. She's now 10 weeks along with a perfectly healthy baby. Hang in there!

I'm sending so many prayers your way. I've seen BETAs that low turn around, praying that you just have a late implanter. I know I can't say don't worry because that is impossible, but I think the fact it was negative then positive has to mean something...

I'm sick for you.... but of course my fingers are crossed for a late, strong implanter.

My fingers are crossed that your number skyrockets. That is so disheartening. I'm very sorry!

What a tough situation to be in! I'm gonna guess a late implanter. Can you POAS with the pink lines and see if they get darker throughout the week?

You are still pregnant! Don't give up!

Any doc in the box (clinic) can draw it, usually 20 bucks or less!

You did take your beta test early...only a week after your transfer date. I mean, most people go 9 days after transfer, right? So, that low number can do some serious magic in a couple days. This little bean is just gonna be stubborn for you. :) Saying a ton of prayers for you, though, because I can't imagine the emotions you're experiencing right now. :(

I'm sorry this is such a roller coaster.

Try the local hospital. I've had my beta drawn twice at one while out of town. They just have to get a special order for same day results, something your RE office will give you.

Oh Erin I'm so sorry to hear this news. I can't believe that you are going through beta he!! again. Please know I am thinking of you and your little bean and hoping there is resolution sooner than not.

I'm praying for you! If you can't find a less expensive option for getting your blood drawn, I might just keep taking cheap pregnancy tests and do the next beta when you get back. I hope the next beta is off the charts high!

Praying for a slacker baby. I'm happy to ask around some of my friends that have gone through IVF here in Cincinnati if they can recommend their clinics or somewhere to have your blood drawn. If a hospital will do it, there are several right around the zoo if you plan to do it that day. Let me know if you need help locating some names/numbers.

Just thinking about the pattern of your at home pregnancy tests (negative on tues and wed morning, then positive wed evening), a late implanter makes the most logical sense. I'm sincerely hoping that is the case!
