Closing the Chapter

My beta came back at zero today. I never thought Id be so happy to not be pregnant!

Hopefully, I can start to close that painful chapter of our life. I'm taking it one day at a time.

That's step 2 in our IVF checklist. Next up? Approval from insurance and an appointment on March 18th!

I'm still in denial I have to do another full IVF cycle..to just have the chance to get pregnant..

On a happy note, I am SO excited I get to meet my favorite author tomorrow night. Jodi Picoult..you may have heard of her. :-) She is doing a book signing at a local theatre. She will be giving a 1 hour presentation and then you get her new book and then you get to meet her and get her autograph. I am pumped! Her new books talks about IVF, I am dying to read it!

That is so cool that you get to meet Jodi Picoult. I am half way through her book now, and it is good, but heart wrenching! And here's wishing you the best of luck with this cycle.

I just read a preview of her new book and I was very interested! In all of her books she seems to do a lot of research and tries to "get it right". I love the way she writes even though it ALWAYS makes me cry...

Glad you are now able to try and close this chapter. I hope everything goes beautifully from here on out and you get to start IVF as soon as possible!

So jealous! She is my favorite! I can't wait to read her new book! Still praying for peace in your heart throughout this whole process. My miscarriage was about 6 weeks ago and I still sometimes feel too sad to function. But some days are ok. I know it's hard.

1. Glad you got back to "0" without having to go extra steps.
2. I can't believe you get to meet her. I LOVE her books, have long before they started turning them into movies. I love how she tackles reproductive issues so honestly.
3. Sorry for the pain you've had to go through.

Yay for moving forward. It got back down pretty quickly although I'm sure it felt like forever to you.

Have a great time! I've never read her books, but I've heard they are good.

i don't want to burst your bubble, but i went to a similar event for Jodi Picoult last year when House Rules came out. My cousin and I thought it was a true book signing (wait in line, say hello, snap a picture as she signs...) but it wasn't. The books were all pre-signed, handed out when you walked into the venue, and there was no opportunity to "meet" her. We were very lucky that we got there super early and were right in the 2nd row, so we got a few good pictures of her. But there wasn't a chance to take a picture with her or anything like that. She did speak for an hour, which was awesome and it was so interesting to hear from her. Also she took A LOT of audience questions, so that was cool.

I hope you have a great time, and it will be awesome, I'm sure. But I just figured I'd give you the heads up so you weren't too disappointed if the setup is the same as ours was. Maybe you'll be more lucky!

Randomly happened upon your blog! I like Jodi P., too! You must live in my hood because she's coming to a theatre closest to my house tomorrow night! I'm not going, but definitely thought that would be awesome.

We don't have babies... we lost our son (easily pregnant after 1 month of trying) to stillbirth in December-- he was full term. We're now ttc (but it's a secret) and got our first BFN this month.

Hi, Erin! I really enjoyed reading your blog. My husband and I are infertile, but don't have coverage for IFV. I'd probably screw it up, as looks so complicated! Anyway, congrats on your baby. I'm you newest follower. Stop on over: http://missyschranz.blogspot.com.

I love Jodi Picoult! Enjoy the night.

I came across your blog and thought I'd leave a comment because your "story" reminds me so much of my own in some ways. I wish you the best with your next IVF cycle. I hope that with this recent loss, you can begin to heal and look positively to the future.

I met Jodi a few years ago at Tivoli theater too! It was such a fun time. I REALLY wish I could go tomorrow night again but it is not quite as easy with a little one now!

Hahaha. We live in the SAME town. No joke at all!!!

We're behind Benedictine in the Green Trails Neighborhood.

What a very small world. Yeah, our circumstance was nothing short of tragic to us-- very heartbroken. We hope to start again. Time, prayer, love, and lots of hope.

I soooo love Jodi Picoult. Fabulous author. Handle with Care is one of my favourites. And I hate what they did to My Sisters Keeper at the movies, a crying shame.
