Quick Thoughts

Many of you asked where my sling is from. I ordered it from! I recommend it 100%! We used it when Trevor was very tiny(ha, was he ever tiny?) to soothe him. If he was fussy we would set him inside and sway for a few minutes and he would be asleep. Now, he loves to sit inside and look out. Its great to be able to use your hands, it doesnt hurt your back and Tom wears it too! I would much rather have him in a carrier than in the car seat when we are out. Its tough because were in the middle of a Chicago winter, but I cant wait to use our carriers in the Spring. We have a Moby and Ergo, too!

Our fertility doctor appointment is set for March 8th at 11:00 am. Unless we get pregnant on our own before than, we will be setting up a schedule for a FET. For those that have had one..any advice? How is it different from IVF? What medications did you use? Please give me info!

How about a Q & A post..from Tom!? Tom has agreed to sit and respond to any and every question you may have. About..our infertility, my pregnancy, Trevor, Me(gulp), the police hiring process, anything you want! Nothing is off limits..!
I am almost done reading your blogs and fixing my blogroll. I will be sure to finish this weekend. Speaking of this weekend, I am heading over to a family friends home in an hour to watch there three kids, ages 8, 6, and 4, while they go to Mexico for the weekend! I am going to get a real taste of being a mother of 4!

Good luck at your appointment in a few weeks. Maybe you will be pregnant by then! :)
I have a question for your hubby, what was it like going through IVF as the husband? Any advice you would like to share/things you wish someone had told you? We are starting our first IVF cycle and I think my hubby is just as nervous as I am!

Yea for your appointment! Good luck..will keep you in my prayers. Maybe you won't even need the appt.

I'll have to keep the sling in mind for future use. :)

From what I understand, you can't be lactating and undergo a FET. Is that true?

I've been reading your blog for a few months now. Trevor is absolutely adorable and you have a beautiful family! Thanks for the info on the sling. I have a baby bjorn but I'm thinking a sling might work better. Good luck with your upcoming appointment. I hope everything goes smoothly and soon you'll have another beautiful baby!

I love my Maya wrap, it's similar to your sling in the way it carries. I'm getting a Moby for this baby :-)
A FET is WAY different than IVF. You only have to go for b/w & u/s probably 3 times in the cycle. The only drugs I took were Estradiol, Prometrium and Medrol. You will feel much better because you're not being stimmed. It's so much easier it's almost a let-down, an afterthought compared to IVF.
Good luck!

How exciting that your about to have your appointment. I know its scary but I always found it really exciting too to get started. I wish you guys lots of luck.
We didn't have any frozen embryo's. So I haven't gotten to go down that path yet. We hope that our next IVF round we are able to freeze some. I'm interested to see the process though you guys have to go through. So I will know in the future.
Best of luck today also with the kids your watching.

Question for Tom: I know for me and my husband, during the IVF process and pregnancy. I was more of the nervous of the two of us. How did you handle the whole process?

You are a brave woman! Good luck getting knocked up in '10! I had a FET cycle (when we got pregnant) and it was tremendously easier than a fresh cycle. Just some estrogen capsuls for the few weeks before hand, and then once the lining was good, transfer and on to the progesterone. Good luck!

Having your family be out of state is hard (mine is too). How has it been to have your family not part of Trevor's daily life? What are you looking forward to most by bringing him to Florida in a few months?

I use Skype... I highly suggest that service!

I found your blog through a friend's blog. I've done both IVF and FET. Let me tell ya, the FET is WAY easier!!! You take some pills, they do a couple U/S, then transfer the embryos... no sweat. I wish you all the luck in the world.

By the by, your little man is so cute!

I have a question for Tom: When did you know Erin was "the one?"

I can't wait for your FET. :) How exciting!!

An FET is WAY easier (physically) than a fresh. No stimulation- just prepping your ute to match your embryo age (with estrogen), ET, and wa-la! Okay so there's a little more than that, but really it's a cinch compared to a fresh. There are fewer dr. appts/meds/$$... You will be a rockstar through this one! I can't wait to hear about the appt. Once you get to ET everything is the same, including that the 2ww is still just as awful though, hate to say. But everything else is better :)

Not that you weren't a star through your fresh, that came out wrong... :)

Wow, good luck at your appointment. We got a call about our frozen little ones (OR GIRLS, lets just call them all girls) last week from the hospital and it brought me to thinking about them. Hum? How long to wait? When is the right time? Am I content being a Mom of two? What do I do with them if we don't use them?
Can't wait to hear how it goes for you. I did FET once, it was VERY easy. I did it naturally with no drugs, although it didn't work, but yours will be different!

I am so glad you asked this question. We just got a BFN on IVF #1 but have 2 frozen and will try again in a few months. Thank GOD we get to skip the stimming next go round! Yeah!!
Love your blog, thank you for sharing your life.
