Pains and Pics

Tom and I ended up going to Wildfire for dinner Monday night. I felt normal all day, but started to have a stomachache on the way to dinner. I debated telling him to forget it. Instead, I sucked it up and tried to enjoy dinner. That was a big mistake. My pain went from a little tummy ache to huge pains in a matter of 20 minutes. I didn't feel nauseous or that I needed to go to the bathroom-it was so weird! It crossed my mind that I was having a Braxton Hicks contraction or something. Needless to say, I didn't touch my dinner and Tom scarfed his down so we could leave. We intended on walking around and getting desert elsewhere. That didn't happen. The funny thing is, I felt much better after we left. I joked that the baby was mad I was wearing tight pants! I wasn't too concerned since the pain went away. Now that I'm writing this, maybe I will google those contractions..

Anyway, I felt really bad for ruining our dinner. On top of that, he bought me a gift certificate for a prenatal massage, even though we agreed not to exchange. I am usually the one to break that agreement, but was really sticking to it this time. I plan on saving my massage until after our big 20 week ultrasound.

I was feeling much better when we got home, so we decided to do a little family photo shoot. Here is the Robertson family on our 3rd anniversary:

Gosh, hes handsome!

Me and the pups

I was browsing some 3D/4D ultrasound locations a few days ago to see if its something we would be interested in. Apparently, you can be 16 weeks pregnant to go in for a gender scan. I will be 16 weeks on Saturday. I called Tommy to see if he would want to find out the sex earlier. He said we can do whatever I want. I am torn. I want to stick with our idea to tell the families. I don't think there is any way we (okay, I!) could keep that secret for a few weeks. Then, I was thinking we could tell the families at Mikey's bday celebration. Ugh, I just don't know. I feel like I am being impatient, but I am just so excited!! What would you do? Wait until June 19th and tell the family on the 21st or go in the first week of June and tell the family on June 10th?

We are headed to a White Sox game tonight with 6 friends. It is an absolutely gorgeous day and I cant wait! Enjoy your Wednesday!

I didn't want to know the sex with my pregnancy, but if I did, I'd want to know sooner!

Or maybe that's just because I want to know what you are having!

Oh, I had really bad stomach cramps around 14 weeks and I kind of figured out they were round ligament pain (google it, interesting stuff), but it really did hurt!

I'm glad your feeling better now.
I think since your carrying the gift you are both giving to each other that's worthy of a massage.
And wow your husband is very handsome, you are going to make one gorgeous baby.
Your dogs are really cute too.

Happy Anniversary

As much as you would love to find out earlier, the closer you are to 20 weeks, the better chance is that they get the gender right. :) Whatever you decide, good luck!

I would wait until you have your 20week ultrasound. You can always go in for the 3D/4D one after, they are amazing. We were able to have one with my son and I loved how clearly you can see the baby. But then I had my aunt laminate them and they turned black. I was so bummed!

Take care

im glad you're feeling better. i don't know how you'd be able to wait knowing you could find out sooner! we were told we'll likely be able to know next month, and we're jumping at the chance to find out sooner rather than later.

The sooner you can find out what that sweet baby is, the better! I can't wait to find out!

Bummer about the pains. Maybe its growing pains??
About the sex, We found out at 10 weeks and weren't planning on it so I didn't have a choice but honestly I think you should do what you truly want to do. Because if your anything like me you really couldn't wait to tell people. Than maybe you should wait until the 19th? Thats a hard one.

Have fun at the game tonight!!

Sorry the tight pants ruined your dinner but the pics turned out great! That top is wonderful & looks very comfy!

I wouldn't be able to keep that secret for Father's Day weekend if I found out early! I'd try to hold out because your plan is an excellent one, IMHO. And what Jay said was right - the further along you are the better the chance that they're correct. Can't wait to hear what you decide!

So glad you are feeling better, I get moments like that too.

I've debated on going in earlier to another place, but talked myself out of it. 4D ultrasounds are so much better further along and I couldn't justify the extra money twice!

Go in earlier...that's what I would do!!! The suspence would kill me. I was wondering why you had to wait til week 20. A friend of mine just went in at 17 weeks and they could easily tell it's a girl!

does your doctor's office have the 3d/4d? ours has it and we got those when we'd go in for our twenty week. personally i'd wait. only because i've heard 'them' *whoever 'they' are* to be careful about a lot of exposure to ultrasounds, and especially ones that aren't given by a medical professional. do what you want though. and i agree that it's probably the 'round ligament' pain. i had that a lot at the beginning of my pregnancies. :0)

We did the 3d/4d ultrasound and I'm so glad we did. We did it mostly because the Dr US told us girl and everyone assumed we'd have a boy and I even felt like we were having a boy. So primarily that was our reason but also to see the little one again. We got it taped and it's so nice to have. Especially since we're only having her I'm totally glad we did it.

We announced our gender as soon as we knew but we saved her name until she was born. Well, meant to but we were at a family wedding 2 days before our due date so we announced her name then. We were so close.

I say wait...only becasue there is a better percentage of being correct the late you do it! My best friedn found out at 15 weeks and then found out at 19 weeks the first one was wrong :(
I say stick with the original!!
Either way..good luck!
You officially look pregnant...too cute!!

I think the reason that you were having those pains and were so sick to your stomach is because you were wearing pants that were too tight. When I was around 15-17 weeks, I couldn't wear any restrictive clothing because I would get so sick! As soon as i would take the clothes off, I would feel better. 2 pic from the top, are you pushing your tummy out?!? If not, i think you popped! Congrats! If you think you are having braxton hicks, always drink some water and eat a few crackers and lay down for an hour, if the pain goes away then it is probably braxton hicks but its a little early for that. I think you should wait till your 20 week scan for the gender, because earlier than that it can be wrong. I say that but if i knew you could see it sooner, i probably would have had it done and then double checked with my 20 week before i told anyone. Also, not saying anything is wrong, but if there is some kind of congenital defect, i wouldn't want to find out from a non-medical person. Sorry this is so long!! =o)

I LOVED finding out the sex- the sooner the better in my book :) think of how surprised they would be if you were able to the family before they were expecting :)

a friend of mine had the cutest idea for "announcing" the gender to their family. They had a big party and they had a beautifully decorated cake- the gender was announced when they cut into the cake and pulled out the first piece. The cake (not the icing, just the inside) was Blue! How fun, cute and unique! I wish i did something like that!

Love the pics! You guys are an adorable family! I would wait, just to be certain, but I can understand wanting to do it sooner too. Good luck on whatever you decide and of course keep us posted!

Your little belly is so cute!! I love it! I would find out as soon as I could. I'm so impatient!

And to answer your question, I was just on Clomid. No trigger shot or progesterone!

Hmmm, tight pants? Time to go shopping! I would totally find out as soon as I could but I know I could not keep it quiet.

By the way I nominated you for a sisterhood award, check out my blog.

I have been following your blog for a bit now. I came across through someone else's, anyway when I was pregnant with my second child the doctor's office said it was a girl, but I wanted to get a "second" opinoin and went to a 3d/4d place. Their polciy is if they can't tell you with 100% certainty you can come back and do it again without paying an additional fee. I don't know if the ones in your area offer that but thought I would throw it out there. Enjoy your journey...you will love it!
